A contract for the supply of nuclear fuel for the Belarusian nuclear power station has been signed

16.05.2018. The first nuclear fuel will be delivered to the BelNPS by Atomstroyexport in November this year. In the future, the fuel company "Rosatom" TVEL "will supply. This was stated to journalists by Deputy Minister of energy of Belarus Mikhail Mikhadyuk. He noted that TVEL's contract for the supply of nuclear fuel is designed for the next 14-15 years. The General conditions of the contract provide for the supply by Atomstroiexport fuel for each unit of the first load and one reload, said at the forum "ATOMEXPO" Mikhadyuk.


"Reloading - this means that a year later part of the fuel burns, unloaded and reloaded. We agreed and the General contract provides that the price of fuel production will be formed on the same principles as for the Russian Federation, and raw materials will be bought at the price of the spot market", — he said.

According to the representative of the Ministry of energy, fuel prices will be mutually acceptable and mutually beneficial.

"I think that the Belarusian partner will be fully satisfied with the prices, quality, reliability and efficiency of fuel, "said TVEL Vice President Oleg Grigoriev at the ATOMEXPO forum in Sochi.

The fuel company of Rosatom "TVEL" includes enterprises for the fabrication of nuclear fuel, conversion and enrichment of uranium, production of gas centrifuges, as well as research and development organizations. It is the only supplier of nuclear fuel for Russian nuclear power plants.

We will remind, on may 14 at the forum in Sochi, Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko said that the electricity tariff with the launch of the NPS, the government will try to reduce to 10 cents per 1 kW.instead of the current 11 cents, but much will depend on the agreements with Russia on the gas issue.

The Deputy Prime Minister also said that President Alexander Lukashenko will soon visit the site of the Belarusian NPS, where he will be reported on all issues related to the construction and launch of the station.
