The Belarusian authorities agreed with Socar Trading, the trading division of the state oil company of Azerbaijan, to deliver three shipments of oil with a total volume of about 250 thousand tons to the port of Yuzhny in March.
According to «АЗЕРТАДЖ» , the price of Azeri Light oil fell by $ 3.69 to $ 32.35 per barrel. It should be noted that the price of a barrel of Azerbaijani oil fell to a low of $ 19.15 in December 2001, and reached a high of $ 149.66 in July 2008.
On Sunday, March 15, the third oil tanker for Belarus this year will arrive in the Lithuanian port of Klaipeda.
"On March 15, the Vernadsky Prospect tanker will deliver about 80 thousand tons of raw oil to the oil terminal in Klaipeda," public relations representative Orinta Barkauskaite told BNS.
Two more tankers are due to arrive at the port on March 19-21 and 29-30, representative of the Lithuanian railway company Lietuvos gelezinkeliai (it delivers oil from Klaipeda to Belarus) Martinas Burba told BNS. According to unofficial data, this oil will also be from Russia, it was ordered by the Naftan oil refinery.
Thus, in March, 4 tankers with a total volume of 320 thousand tons of oil are expected to be delivered to Klaipeda for Belarus.
Since January 1, 2020, Belarus does not have long-term contracts with major Russian companies for the supply of oil through the Druzhba pipeline due to a dispute over the size of the premium to the duty-free oil price. Therefore, the country buys tanker oil from alternative suppliers.
