Vladimir Semashko: Belarus is ready to work closely with Tatarstan in petrochemicals, agriculture, construction

Belarusian enterprises are ready to actively participate in the expansion of cooperation with Tatarstan, the implementation of import substitution programs, further close cooperation in the fields of engineering, petrochemicals, agriculture, construction and road transport. This was stated by Ambassador of Belarus to Russia Vladimir Semashko today in Kazan at a meeting with President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the press service of the Belarusian diplomatic mission reported.


Vladimir Semashko thanked Rustam Minnikhanov for the special attention he paid to cooperation between Tatarstan and Belarus. According to the Embassy, in the Russian region function in the Assembly production of MTZ tractors, elevators "Mogilevliftmash", there are four enterprises with participation of Belarusian capital: TPK, OOO MTZ-Tatarstan", JSC "Amkodor-Bel", LLC "Trade house Molodechnomebel, representation of the holding company "Pinskdrev". In addition, the dealer network "Gomselmash", MTZ, "Mogilevliftmash", MAZ, "Amkodor", Borisov plant of automotive electrical equipment is organized. Trade turnover at the end of 2018 amounted to almost $ 1.3 billion (an increase of 7.6%). According to this indicator, Tatarstan ranks 6th among all 85 Russian regions.

At the same time, the Ambassador noted that in January-June 2019, the dynamics of trade decreased, but Belarus and Tatarstan have all the potential to reach the level of trade of more than $2 billion a year. He called cooperation in the industrial sphere as the basis of cooperation, the key direction - cooperation of petrochemical enterprises, which account for more than 70% of mutual trade turnover. Cooperation in the field of mechanical engineering is developing successfully. The agro-industrial complex of Tatarstan is almost 70% equipped with MTZ tractors. More than 60% forage and 40% grain harvesters - machinery plant "Gomselmash". Kazan's passenger vehicle fleet consists of more than 50% of MAZ buses and Belkommunmash trams.

Vladimir Semashko proposed to initiate consideration of the issue in the Ministry of industry and trade of Russia on the possibility of including gas and gas diesel tractors MTZ, gas engine combines "Polesie" in the list of gas equipment subsidized from the Russian Federal budget. He also initiated consideration of the possibility of creating a joint production for the production of small-sized municipal equipment on the basis of MAZ chassis for the needs of housing and communal services of Tatarstan. The Ambassador spoke about the possibility of the Belarusian side to increase the supply of necessary agricultural machinery to local farmers, in particular energy-saturated tractors, combine harvesters, and expressed the interest and willingness of Belarusian manufacturers to increase the supply of Elevator equipment, a wide range of construction and finishing materials, including those not produced in Tatarstan.

"Belarus is one of our leading foreign partners and has been consistently among the foreign trade leaders in cooperation with Tatarstan in recent years," Minnikhanov said. - An intergovernmental agreement is in force, a corresponding action plan for its implementation, a number of protocols and agreements between ministries, chambers of Commerce and industry, academies of Sciences have been signed. Kazan and Minsk are twin cities. Last year, Days of Tatarstan were held in Minsk. Belarus ' return Days in our Republic are scheduled for September next year."

The head of Tatarstan spoke in favor of expanding cooperation in mechanical engineering, high technologies and other areas. "We have a great undisclosed potential for cooperation, our joint task is to use it for the benefit of further strengthening of Russian - Belarusian relations," he stressed.

Vladimir Semashko and Rustam Minnikhanov took part in Tatarstan petrochemical forum, got acquainted with the joint stand of Belneftekhim concern enterprises. The Ambassador also visited Passenger transport enterprise No. 2, where he met with the leadership of Kazan road carriers, and held a workshop on the activities of LLC "TPK MTZ-Tatarstan".
