Vladimir Semashko: China is interested in the Assembly of electric vehicles at the plant "BELGEE"

03.07.2018. China is interested in the Assembly of electric vehicles at the plant "BELGEE". Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Vladimir Semashko said this on the TV channel "Belarus 1".

"With the seeming expensive electricity for the population, charging an electric car is 4-5 times cheaper than filling it with gasoline or diesel fuel at a comparable distance. This is already an incentive to switch to this type of transport. As for the cars, the Chinese are prepared on the basis of the BELGEE to collect a certain number of electric vehicles, - said Vladimir Semashko. - But we have to prepare the infrastructure for this transport and run it. I think, in 2-3 years at the plant near Borisov will collect and electric vehicles. The National Academy of Sciences has a task to make domestic supercapacitors by the end of this year. But this is not the only thing: we have to do at home and power engines, and all electronics, converters. Therefore, work is underway."

Speaking about the future of Belarusian energy after the commissioning of the Belarusian NPP, the Deputy Prime Minister noted that the cost of energy in the country will be significantly lower than, for example, in the Russian Federation. "If you take the post-Soviet space, we have the most efficient power industry," he added. After the commissioning of the Belarusian NPP, it will allow to sell the surplus to the Eurasian market without barriers. Negotiations on the use of the resource of the Belarusian station by the EU countries are underway.

For the population of Belarus, it is time to move forward from cross-subsidizing and paying for electricity at cost, Vladimir Semashko said. "We thought the approximate rates. But it's still a difficult question, " he said. - In General, the elimination of cross-subsidies will last until 2025."-
